Senior Research Officer

Steve has lead the research team since May, 2008 and weighs in as The IDEA Center's ultimate commuter, traveling monthly from Florida to Kansas. He is a Fellow in the American Psychological Association and American Educational Research Association, as well as an Emeritus Professor of Special Education, Counseling, and Student Affairs at K-State. Among his many academic awards and extensive recognitions, he is best known for his dedication to research. Steve has a M.A. in educational psychology and measurements, and completed his Ph.D. in educational psychology, both from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. A recognized author of multiple publications and papers, Steve served Kansas State University for more than 25 years as both professor and department chair. With his wife, Sherry, they have a son who lives in Colorado with his family and a daughter living in California. Recently, Steve and Sherry had the joyous addition of their second granddaughter. When not spending time with family, Steve enjoys riding one of his two bicycles, exercising, and playing golf.
