The IDEA Center offers numerous training opportunities throughout the year -- from conferences to Train the Trainer workshops, to user group discussions, and onsite facilitation. The following are some of our current training opportunities:

Train the Trainer Workshop 2012

February 7-8, 2012, Orlando, FL
The IDEA Center's one-and-a-half day, in-depth workshop is designed to train current and future clients in the appropriate use of the IDEA Student Ratings of Instruction system. The purpose of the workshop is to develop a larger constituency of on-campus expertise among faculty, administrators, and staff.

IDEA Student Ratings of Instruction Workshops

Workshop 1: Addresses the components of an effective evaluation system, the role of student ratings in that system, the advantages and disadvantages of a national system, and provides a brief description of the IDEA Student Ratings of Instruction system. The workshop can be tailored for 2 hour, 4 hour, or full day session.

Workshop 2:
Designed for institutions currently using the IDEA Student Ratings of Instruction system or for institutions planning to use IDEA. The IDEA Student Ratings of Instruction system is reviewed in depth with the purpose to train faculty and administrators in its use. This workshop can be tailored for faculty or administrator audiences. A minimum of 1½ hours is needed for this workshop and can be extended to a half- or full-day session.

Cost: $750.00/day plus expenses. Includes workshop materials for up to 100 participants. Additional packets of material can be provided for $2.00 per packet.

IDEA Student Ratings of Instruction: A Guide for Use

This CD-ROM and Internet-based tool is designed to train individuals or groups about the appropriate use of IDEA. The modular design allows individuals to review the material at their convenience and speed, focusing on the entire set of materials or specific content areas that are of specific interest. Additional training resources provide opportunities to practice interpreting class reports.
